A heartfelt plea from a grieving family: Carry your inhaler if you have asthma! 💔

Zoe Nunn, a vibrant 20-year-old politics student at Anglia Ruskin University, tragically lost her life after suffering an unexpected asthma attack at a nightclub. Despite being asthma-free for years, she didn’t have her inhaler that night—a mistake her family is determined to prevent others from making.

Her parents, Mark and Louise, alongside her sister Lily, are teaming up with Asthma + Lung UK to warn all those about to start university this autumn. They’re urging students to remember the importance of carrying their inhalers and registering with a GP at university to ensure they have a proper asthma action plan.
Zoe’s family shares their unbearable sorrow, not just for the life she lived, but for the future she won’t have. Her passions for politics, her dream of studying journalism in Edinburgh, and her hope to become prime minister now only live on in their memories and dreams.
On top of this heartfelt message, the family made the brave choice to donate Zoe’s organs. Their kindness continues to touch lives even in their darkest time, underscoring the impact and importance of awareness.
Dr Andy Whittamore from Asthma + Lung UK reminds students to be mindful of the triggers they might face during fresher’s week, such as smoke, alcohol, and stress, which can seriously affect those with asthma.
If Zoe’s story can change just one person’s habits, her family hopes it might save a life. Let’s honour Zoe’s memory by spreading this vital awareness. 💙
