This weekend, Tenby saw an unforgettable moment as 70-year-old Kes Aleknavicius completed his incredible 43rd Ironman! With a course that includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and a full marathon, Kes pushed through the challenging conditions, crossing the finish line to a wildly cheering crowd.

Originally from Rochdale, Kes now calls Tenby home along with his wife, Carol. His inspiring journey started 35 years ago, and he’s competed worldwide from Australia to the USA. But this race was special. Despite strong winds and a gruelling course, Kes was determined to finish, even saying, “Most 70-year-olds on a Sunday night would be ready for bed, but I still had four hours of running to do!”
