🏉 Liam Williams’ Big Move to Newcastle Red Bulls! 🚀
Liam Williams, the legendary Wales full-back, has made a stunning move to the Newcastle Red Bulls, signing a one-year contract with the exciting PREM Rugby newcomers. After a stint of training solo following his exit from Saracens, Williams has joined forces with the Red Bulls, ready to showcase his talent once again.
Williams opened up about the whirlwind nature of his move: “I only chatted with Dimes on Tuesday, and by Thursday, I was sorting things out!” It’s a hectic time for the 34-year-old who has to relocate his young family from Wales to the northeast of England. Quick chats with physios, medical checks, and last-minute travel plans have been the order of the day.
“I’m more or less ready to go,” Williams said, focusing on fast-tracking the move. “I need a couple of days to sort out my life back home and then come and move up.” He’s even got the family removals sorted with some help from a relative.
Awaiting him is the opportunity not only to thrive in the English Premiership but also potentially don the Welsh jersey again, eyeing the upcoming autumn internationals and Six Nations. With 93 Wales caps under his belt, Williams is just seven short of a century and hopes remain high for his international aspirations.
Stay tuned as Liam looks to bring his A-game to Newcastle and keep an eye on his efforts to return to the international stage. Will he get that call from Steve Tandy if I’m playing regularly? 👀 Only time will tell! Let’s cheer him on as he embarks on this exciting journey! 🍀
