A 22-year-old nursery worker from Hounslow, west London, will face sentencing this Friday for the horrific abuse of 21 babies under her care. Roksana Lecka, employed at Riverside Nursery in Twickenham, was caught on CCTV committing unspeakable acts against innocent children, including kicking a young boy in the face and stepping on his shoulder.

Lecka’s appalling actions were exposed last year after nursery staff noticed she was behaving suspiciously and sent her home. Police reviewed the footage, uncovering multiple incidents where Lecka pinched and scratched children, pushed babies head-first over, and even covered a toddler’s mouth when he cried.

Parents reported unusual injuries and bruising, which prompted further investigation. In one shocking incident, Lecka was seen kicking a little boy repeatedly, causing visible marks and bruises. Despite being confronted with evidence, Lecka continuously responded with “no comment” during police interviews.

The abuse took place at two nurseries between October 2023 and June 2024, with the majority of incidents linked to Riverside, which has since closed. She was found guilty of seven counts of cruelty and convicted of 14 more by a jury in June.

DS Geoff Boye described the footage as deeply disturbing, saying it showed clear evidence of repeated assaults. Lecka admitted to smoking cannabis before shifts and was even caught vaping near a baby.

This case serves as a grim reminder of the trust placed in childcare workers and the devastating impact when that trust is shattered. Stay tuned for updates on Lecka’s sentencing.
