🎤 Florence Welch’s Near-Death Experience 🎤

Singer-songwriter Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine recently opened up about a life-threatening experience at a festival in Cornwall. The 39-year-old revealed that she nearly died from an ectopic pregnancy, experiencing massive internal bleeding after her fallopian tube ruptured. Thank goodness her doctor insisted she get a scan after feeling unwell before performing. That decision saved her life!

Florence shared with The Guardian that the ectopic pregnancy was an intensely emotional experience: “The closest I came to making life was the closest I came to death.” Initially, she dismissed her symptoms, thinking it was just part of her first-time pregnancy experience, despite the sadness and fear following a miscarriage. However, under her doctor’s advice, she had a scan after completing her festival performance and it was revealed she had a critical amount of blood in her abdomen—enough to fill a Coke can!
Despite the urgency, there was a moment of panic when Florence wanted to flee, embarrassed about causing a fuss. Thankfully, she made it through without getting on a plane where things could have been much worse. Just ten days later, the resilient singer was back on stage, sharing her music with the world.
Florence truly embodies the spirit of perseverance and strength, reminding us all to take our health seriously and listen to our bodies and trusted healthcare providers. Women, sometimes we just have to be our own advocates! 💪✨
