Hailing from Glan Clwyd Hospital, these committed colleagues have chosen to undertake this challenging trek to pay tribute to their friend and mentor and to raise funds for the hospital’s intensive care unit garden project. The team has already raised over £8,000 towards their £12,000 goal, aiming to create a peaceful garden space for patients’ families and staff—a cause close to Stephan’s heart.

🚶‍♀️🌄 As they face the daunting task of climbing Africa’s tallest free-standing mountain, standing at 5,895 meters, the group will endure physically and mentally demanding conditions. The expedition is deeply personal, especially for those who trained under Dr Hugo’s guidance.

✨ Pranava Patil, a fellow anaesthetist, shares: “Stephan was a mentor and a friend, always there when I needed help. He touched our lives and supported trainees like no other. We will all feel his presence guiding us on this trek.”
