A man from Flintshire has been sentenced to a lengthy 16 years behind bars after being found guilty of committing shocking sexual offences. Dumitru-Robert Lactus, 27, was convicted of a series of heinous crimes, including rape, assault inflicting physical harm, intentional suffocation, and making threats to kill.
At Mold Crown Court, the impact of his brutal actions was highlighted, with Detective Constable Gareth Bostock describing Lactus’s behaviour as “shocking and violent.” The victim’s courage in reporting these horrific acts was commended, emphasising the importance of speaking out and seeking justice.
The court proceedings have resulted in Lactus receiving not only a substantial prison sentence but also a lifelong restraining order to protect the victim. He is also required to register as a sex offender indefinitely, marking a significant stand against such deplorable conduct.
