It was a dramatic Sunday afternoon in Llanrumney, Cardiff, when armed police swooped in on Ball Road. Residents in this typically quiet area were taken by surprise as officers, armed and clad in protective gear, searched a home following a man’s arrest.

The police operation, which began shortly before 3pm, saw the street blocked off as officers worked in unmarked vehicles. The operation was linked to an investigation involving alleged firearms and drug offences. South Wales Police confirmed the individual was arrested on suspicion of dealing in Class A drugs, possessing firearms, and supplying firearms. He is currently in custody.

Eyewitnesses described it as highly serious, more intense than a typical drugs bust, likening the presence to an armed military response unit. Footage showed officers removing items from the property, including a large bag.
