🚨*”Mindless Vandalism” Strikes Again in Swansea Park*🚨
Our beloved Parc Melin Mynach in Gorseinon has unfortunately become the latest target of vandalism, with its popular play area suffering significant damage. A fire, believed to have been started deliberately, destroyed equipment, including a much-loved birds’ nest swing.
Locals are understandably worried, as these senseless acts not only damage property but also pose a threat to the safety of our children. Councillor Nicola Matthews expressed heartbreak over the incident, emphasising the importance of these play spaces for children’s well-being.
This isn’t the first time the park has faced such troubles. Earlier in the year, vandals set fire to two benches. Both incidents have sparked concern and frustration within the community.
The fire service responded promptly to extinguish the latest blaze, but the reality of arson’s dangers remains. They’re working closely with police and local authorities to address this worrying trend.
Residents are being urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial in preventing further damage and ensuring our parks remain safe havens for children and families.
