🚨 **Gold Heist at Welsh Museum!** 🚨

Two men from Northampton have been charged following a daring raid at the St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff. The early morning break-in saw precious Bronze Age gold pieces reportedly vanish from the museum’s exhibits.

Gavin Burnett, 43, and Darren Burnett, 50, are now facing the music with an appearance at Northampton Magistrates’ Court set for Wednesday, 8th October. Both are charged with burglary in connection with this high-profile incident, alongside allegations of conspiring to commit further crimes, including motor vehicle thefts across Northampton.

Police are on a manhunt for the missing artefacts as their investigation heats up. While the exact value of the lost treasures is still under wraps, their historical significance is immense, fuelling the urgency to recover them.
Detective Inspector Bob Chambers expressed gratitude towards Northamptonshire Police and the museum for their cooperation, and also appreciates the tips from the public that contributed to the investigation.
Adding to the drama, Gavin Burnett faces extra charges related to threats made against police officers. The pair’s charges extend to multiple burglaries in Northampton between July and August, where several cars were also stolen.
Amgueddfa Cymru, the organisation behind the museum, has praised local law enforcement for their swift action and vows to stay engaged in the ongoing investigation.
Stay alert and if you spot anything suspicious, be sure to report it. Let’s hope these historic treasures find their way back home safely! 🏺✨
