Seaman’s actions, influenced by substance misuse, led to a court appearance where he faced charges of attempted sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a child to view a sexual act. Despite the offences occurring four-and-a-half years ago, the case faced several delays before reaching court.

Throughout the proceedings, it was revealed that Seaman had struggled with cocaine and alcohol issues, but he claims to have been sober for two years. In light of his guilty plea and after considering his recent rehabilitation efforts, the court handed him a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. He must also undergo rehabilitation, complete 150 hours of community work, and pay prosecution costs.

Importantly, Seaman will be on the sex offenders register and under a sexual harm prevention order for the next decade. This case highlights the importance of vigilance and quick action in protecting children from exploitation. Stay informed and alert to keep your community safe.
