π§ Heads up, folks! π§ Big changes are coming to a crucial stretch of the A48 in Carmarthenshire. To boost safety, this busy road will be closed overnight in both directions next week. Here’s the scoop:

π
Dates: Monday, October 13 to Saturday, October 18
π Times: 8pm to 6am

π£οΈ Where: The six-mile stretch between Llanddarog junction and Cross Hands Roundabout.

π Diversions: Traffic will be rerouted from Cross Hands Roundabout. If you’re travelling, follow the A476 and B4310 through Llanddarog.
Why the closure? It’s all about making this road safer for everyone! They’re refreshing road markings and replacing those all-important road studs, taking advantage of lower traffic flows during the night.
With the A48 known for accidents, these steps are vital. In case you didn’t know, there were 169 crashes between Carmarthen and Pont Abraham last year aloneβa real hotspot for collisions.
Plus, big shoutout to the transport minister for prioritising more improvements to central reservation crossings and getting rid of unsafe laybys later this year!
So, if youβre driving in the area, make sure to plan ahead. Safe travels, everyone! ππ¨
