🌊🐠 Surprise Discovery on Swansea Beach! 🐠🌊

Beachgoers were in for quite a shock during their Saturday morning stroll when a surprising guest made an appearance on Swansea beach—a stunning stingray! 🏖️ Eva Gardner from Ogmore Vale was enjoying her coastal walk when she glimpsed a mysterious white blob on the sand. Curiosity getting the best of her, she went for a closer look and discovered the impressive marine creature lying there.

Stingrays, which are more acquainted with warm, tropical waters, aren’t usual visitors along the Welsh coastline, making this a rare and intriguing sighting. Eva shared, “I’m more familiar with Porthcawl beaches, so seeing a stingray here was quite unexpected—not your everyday walk companion!”

The sight certainly drew attention, with numerous passersby and their curious dogs stopping for a quick snap of this fascinating find on the beach.
For those who love marine trivia, the common stingray can stretch up to 5ft across and weigh around 80lbs. Typically, these graceful sea dwellers prefer to hide in the shadows of warmer climates, feeding on a diet of crabs, marine worms, and little lobsters.
Though stingrays are found across different global waters—from the Baltic Sea’s edges to the Mediterranean and along Africa’s north coast—spotting one in Swansea is indeed a memorable encounter!
