Tragedy in Stafford: Heartbreaking Loss of Two Little Lives 💔
Over the weekend, Stafford was struck by a devastating incident as two young children, Meraj Ul Zahra, 2, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, 3, were found unresponsive in a house on Corporation Street. Despite rapid response efforts, both children tragically died at the scene.
Their family is now being supported by specially trained officers during this unimaginably difficult time. Our hearts go out to them as the community grapples with this loss.
A 43-year-old woman from the area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody as investigations continue. The scene remains cordoned off by the police, and the case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct to ensure thorough oversight due to earlier police contact.
Neighbours are in shock, with local resident Luke Browne describing the scene as heartbreaking and expressing the collective sorrow felt by many: “It’s very sad. Children dying is a horror. It’s quite painful to hear it.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save the young lives.
