Heartfelt tributes have poured in for the vibrant soul of 13-year-old Kasey-Lei Greene, who passed away suddenly during a cinema trip in Abu Dhabi. Originally from Sutton Coldfield, Kasey had been living in Abu Dhabi for 14 months when tragedy struck at Yas Mall’s Vox Cinema. Just an hour after she left her home with a hug and a smile, her family received the devastating news that she’d collapsed from what is believed to be a cardiac arrest.
Her father, Marc, recalled their final embrace, noting, “She held me so tight, like she knew it was our last hug.” Though emergency responders acted swiftly and medics worked for hours, they were unable to revive her.
Kasey was cherished for her bubbly and caring nature, bridging friendships across diverse backgrounds. “She was an influencer of joy and connection,” her proud father shared. Nearly 600 mourners gathered in the UK to celebrate her life, while many more joined a live stream from Abu Dhabi.
In a testament to her kind spirit, the family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign, “Kasey’s Wells of Life”, to fund water pumps in Africa. Inspired by her friend’s culture, they hope to make a positive impact in her memory.
Kasey adored spending time at her dressing table perfecting her beauty routines, enjoying Disney family vacations, and was eagerly awaiting a Travis Scott concert in Abu Dhabi. Heartbreakingly, her mum Manda was arranging her own mother’s funeral when Kasey tragically passed.
