đ⨠Chloe’s Holiday Horror: Cat Bite Turns into Rabies Scare! đąđ

What started as a blissful getaway to Turkey turned into a terrifying ordeal for mum-of-two Chloe Kelly, 44. While dining at a restaurant in the luxurious La Blanche Resort in Bodrum, Chloe was unexpectedly bitten by a stray cat. Little did she know, this bite would lead to a life-threatening rabies infection!
Back home in Exeter, Chloe’s heroic dogs, Zeus and Bronson, became her unexpected saviours. They wouldn’t leave her foot alone, incessantly sniffing the wound. Their persistence pushed Chloe to dial 111 for advice.

Turns out, Chloe was in a race against time, needing urgent treatment within 24 hours to prevent the disease from spreading to her brain. Although it was a close callâ26 hours post-bite to be exactâshe made it to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital just in time. Emergency treatment had to be flown in from Northampton, as rabies cases in the UK are exceedingly rare.

Chloe shared, “If it wasn’t for my dogs, I donât think I’d be here today. They’ve always been my best pals, but now theyâre my heroes too.”
Tragically, the incident has left Chloe with nerve damage, forcing her to give up her job and rehome her youngest dog, Bronson. Despite these challenges, Chloe remains grateful for her survival.
Chloe’s advice? Stay vigilant, especially when dealing with animals abroad. And, if anything feels off, trust your instincts (or your petsâ instincts)!
Rabies might be rare, but itâs a potent reminder that a holiday can change in an instant. Hug your pets tight tonightâthey just might save your life one day! đžâ¤ď¸
