🚨 Busted! 🚨 A Newport taxi driver got more than he bargained for after police pulled him over and discovered a staggering 2kg of high-purity cocaine in his cab! Mohammed Yamin, 55, wasn’t just transporting passengers—he was carrying illegal goods destined for the Blackwood area.

During the stop on the A472 near Pontllanfraith, not only was the Class A drug found, but an additional search uncovered £17,000 in cash! Yamin played a major role in the local drug scene and has now been slapped with a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence. 💸⚖️

But that’s not all. At a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing, it was revealed that Yamin benefitted to the tune of £128,409 from his illegal activities. His assets were valued at £400,430, and he’s been ordered to pay back the full amount of his illicit earnings. Failure to pay up within three months could see him serve an extra 15 months in prison. ⏰

Detective Constable Hackney from Gwent Police commented on the case, emphasising their dedication to cracking down on drug supply and urging the public to report any suspicious activity. Remember, illegal drugs have no place in our communities, and every tip helps to keep our streets safer. 🙌
