Remember last year’s Strictly glitterball champion? Comedian Chris McCausland and fab dancer Dianne Buswell stole the show. But not every move was as smooth as their award-winning waltz! 😅
During a fiery samba rehearsal, Chris was accidentally kicked so hard in the face by Dianne that he nearly lost his lunch. Talk about a rough dance move! 😬 In his hilarious memoir, Chris recalls how a split-second misstep saw him smack dab in the path of Dianne’s high-flying foot. The impact was so intense, Chris says, “I almost threw up and had to lie down for 20 minutes.”
With that incident behind them, the pair dazzled with a spooky Halloween-themed samba. But nerves and a change in routine order had Chris feeling the pressure. His candid take? “The samba is a stupid dance,” he laughs, highlighting the all-at-once demands on his body.
Despite the kick, Chris’s sense of humour remains unscathed. Joking that if he weren’t already blind, Dianne’s foot could’ve done the trick: “It’s honestly a good job they didn’t work already.”
