Exciting news for Cardiff! 🎉 The historic Old Library on The Hayes is set for an incredible transformation, thanks to a whopping £2m grant. This amazing project, spearheaded by the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, aims to convert the iconic structure into a vibrant centre for education and the arts right in the heart of the city.

Phase one kicks off soon with a focus on creating a warm and inviting entrance to welcome everyone in. Expect a revamped foyer, new glass box entry, and lively pop-up stages perfect for free concerts and community events. Imagine a space buzzing with creativity and cultural activities!

The Foyle Foundation, an independent charity dedicated to the arts and education, is the generous donor behind this project. In honour of their contribution, the new spots will carry the Foyle name, adding a personal touch to this cultural revival.
Work is set to roll out by the end of this month, with completion slated for summer 2026. Cardiff Council leader Huw Thomas expressed his enthusiasm, highlighting the importance of preserving this landmark and turning it into a creative hub.
