Heartbreaking news from Llandrindod Wells—a pet dog has tragically died in a house fire. On Monday, emergency services rushed to Tremont Road just before midday when a blaze engulfed the kitchen and living room of a three-storey house. Fortunately, no people were inside at the time, but sadly, the dog couldn’t be saved.

Fire crews from Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells, and Knighton acted quickly, using breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, and thermal imaging cameras to combat the flames. The gas and electricity were cut off to prevent further danger. Once the fire was under control, firefighters reached out to neighbours with home fire safety tips.
In addition to the fire service, Dyfed-Powys Police and the Ambulance Service were on the scene to support the efforts. Despite these valiant efforts, the loss of the beloved pet serves as a poignant reminder of the dangers of house fires.

Our thoughts are with the affected family, and we urge everyone to ensure their homes are as safe as possible. Please check your fire alarms and have a safety plan in place—your pets’ lives could depend on it. Stay safe, everyone.
