Loose Women’s Charlene White has shared the heartbreaking news that her beloved dad, Denniston, has taken his own life. He had been quietly struggling with a “dark cloud” he felt he couldn’t shake. With raw honesty, Charlene and her family chose to speak openly about their loss, sharing that concealing their emotions doesn’t help anyone.

In a moving Instagram post, Charlene shared a picture of her dad smiling on a beach and wrote, “Two weeks ago, our lives changed forever. Our dad decided to take control of his dark cloud and take his own life.” She encouraged everyone to “hug your parents close” and remind them of your love, however difficult the journey might be.

Charlene expressed deep gratitude for her family’s support system, saying, “We don’t know how we’d ever be able to see a sliver of light without each other to lean on and the countless friends who have held our hearts over these past two weeks.”

The family honoured Denniston with a traditional Jamaican nine night, a beautiful celebration of his life with food, dancing, and joy, organised by their close-knit community. “The ancestors were right – it was the perfect way to release our grief,” she added.
Denniston was much more than just an “amazing dad”; he was also a cherished stepdad, surrogate dad, friend, brother, husband, and more to countless people. Charlene and her family are taking each day as it comes, united in love and resilience.
This powerful reminder from Charlene to cherish your loved ones resonates deeply. It’s a call for compassion, understanding, and connection, especially during times when the path seems daunting and unclear. Let’s hold our loved ones close and support each other through life’s unpredictable journey. ❤️
