🌸 Sad news for cherry blossom lovers! 🌸

The beloved Arakurayama Sengen Park Cherry Blossom Festival in Fujiyoshida, Japan, has been cancelled for 2026. This annual event, set against the stunning backdrop of Mount Fuji, usually brings in a throng of tourists eager to see the breathtaking pink blossoms.
However, the influx of visitors has become too much for the small town to handle. Locals have reported concerns ranging from overcrowding to a few visitors helping themselves to private facilities! 🚽

Safety concerns have also been raised, especially for kids walking to school. Mayor Shigeru Horiuchi expressed a “deep sense of crisis” about how these issues have begun to threaten the residents’ peaceful way of life.
It’s a shame to miss out on such a beautiful event, but it’s essential to respect the local community and preserve the charm of Fujiyoshida for future visitors. 🌸✨
Let’s all learn from this and remember to be respectful travellers wherever we go. Would love to hear your thoughts—have you ever faced similar issues during your travels? 🤔✈️
