Heads up, folks! 📢 Next April, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will fully replace two major benefits with Universal Credit. That means if you’re on Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance, it’s time to make the switch! 📅
The DWP has already started sending out Migration Notices. If you receive one, don’t ignore it! These letters will tell you when you need to apply for Universal Credit to keep your payments going. 📨
But here’s the scoop: for most people, moving to Universal Credit might result in the same or even more benefits. 🙌 Here are the standard monthly amounts you could receive:
– Single and under 25: £316.98
– Single and 25 or over: £400.14
– Couples both under 25: £497.55 (combined)
– Couples with one or both 25 or over: £628.10 (combined)

Missed your Migration Notice deadline? Don’t panic! You can still apply online for Universal Credit. However, you might miss out on transitional protection, which is extra cash added if your old benefits were more than what Universal Credit offers.
Applying is pretty straightforward. Do it online within 28 days of creating your account, and have these handy:
– Bank, building society, or credit union account details
– Access to a phone and an email address
– ID like a passport, driving licence, or debit/credit card
