Tragic News from Glenboi: A devastating house fire in the early hours of New Year’s Eve has claimed one life in the village of Glenboi, near Mountain Ash. Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly before 2am, battling a “well-developed” blaze. As firefighters worked tirelessly, police officers closed the main road and evacuated nearby homes to ensure the safety of residents.

Sadly, a person was discovered deceased inside the severely damaged home. Thoughts and condolences go out to those affected by this heartbreaking incident. Local councillors have expressed their sympathies, labelling it an “awful incident”.

A joint investigation by South Wales Police and the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is currently active to determine the cause of the fire. The ongoing support from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is aiding this effort. A cordon is in place, and Aberdare Road will remain closed for some time as investigations continue.
