A family in Pembrokeshire is tired of battling mould and damp in their current home, sparking them to apply for new traveller pitches to create a healthier living environment. Anthony Thomas and his family are pushing for the establishment of two pitches featuring static and touring caravans, a day room, and ecological improvements at Made of More Yard, Simpson Hill. Their current setup, which they describe as cold and damp, has forced them into constant cleaning to combat the mould.

The family’s planning application outlines a dire need for new accommodations due to the lack of available public or private sites in the area. As proponents of smaller, family-focused sites, they’re hoping to escape the harsh conditions they face every winter. The proposed development is designed to provide a safe and peaceful space for Anthony, his parents, and his own young family, aligning with their lifestyle preferences.

The plan includes upgrades to the existing access and would introduce ecological enhancements to the area, demonstrating a thoughtful consideration for sustainability. The small-scale project is not expected to negatively impact the area and acknowledges a genuine need for housing within the Gypsy and Traveller community. Planners are set to review this proposal soon. Let’s hope this brings the family closer to a healthier home! 🏡✨ #Pembrokeshire #HousingNeeds #FamilyFirst
