🎯✨ Gerwyn Price, the charismatic darts superstar, opened up about the massive prize money in darts with some revealing insights. Despite a hefty £1 million being up for grabs at the World Darts Championship, Price claims the cash wouldn’t change him. This year saw Luke Littler scoop the jaw-dropping sum, but for ‘The Iceman’, it’s just another day in the world of darts.

Price, who is ranked 12th on the PDC Order of Merit and bagged £551,000 in prize money, says hitting the jackpot wouldn’t alter his life. For him, it’s about the sport and not just the money. “I’ve built a platform where £1m is a lot but it wouldn’t change anything about me… it would just allow me to carry on doing what I’m doing a bit longer,” Price shared on the Tops and Tales Darts podcast.

Despite his recent surprise exit in the second round of the World Darts Championship, Price is on a roll, having reached three semi-finals in a row, including at the World Masters. The 2021 World Champion continues to show resilience and drive, and he’s set his sights on another decade in the sport, thanks to his new contract with Red Dragon.

But what really stands out is Price’s grounded approach to money and success. “Money makes things easier. It does change a lot of people but I like to think that it hasn’t changed me anyway,” he added. His commitment to darts is undeniable as he signed a deal until he’s 50, with no plans to fully retire anytime soon.
Catch him next in Premier League Darts action in Antwerp, where he’ll be gunning for his first win of the campaign against Gian van Veen. 🎯💪 Let’s wish Gerwyn best of luck for more smashing successes on the oche! 🏆
