Starting at 3pm on Thursday, towns like Ystradgynlais, Merthyr Tydfil, Maesteg, and Lampeter will kick off the snow festivities with up to 4mm of snow per hour. By 6pm, the snowfall is expected to spread significantly, impacting areas such as Monmouth, Burry Port, and Pembroke. As the night deepens, places like Hay-on-Wye, Abergavenny, and Llandovery will see even heavier snowfalls reaching over 4mm per hour by 9pm.

When midnight strikes, expect Monmouth and Abergavenny to experience some of the heaviest snowfalls, and the wintry weather will persist through to 3am. By then, Maesteg, Ystradgynlais and Builth Wells will be in the storm’s sights.

With Friday morning’s commute in mind, Bangor, Caernarfon and Blaenau Ffestiniog will see the thickest blankets of snow by 6am, continuing until 9am. By midday, most of the country will start to clear, but Blaenau Ffestiniog will hold onto winter’s touch just a little longer.
