🌞 The final day of the Lib Dem conference in Bournemouth kicked off with a splash of beach cricket! Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey, accompanied by West Dorset MP Edward Morello, brought some fun to the seafront, both armed with cricket bats. 🏏

Sporting a white polo and a dash of sun lotion, Sir Ed was ready to swap politics for a bit of sun, sea, and cricket. The two MPs took charge as team captains and picked their players from the party’s ranks. Mid Dorset and North Poole MP Vikki Slade was the last standing, joining Sir Ed’s team as the game got underway.

Amid laughter and camaraderie, the MPs enjoyed a leisurely game, with no one keeping score. Sir Ed even joked about ditching his keynote speech to continue the match instead! Occasionally, the ball made its way into the sea, and MPs were quick to retrieve it in their sports gear. 🌊
The fun on the beach provided a lovely backdrop to a day set for serious speeches, including Sir Ed’s ongoing discussions about welcoming US scientists affected by halted cancer research to the UK. But for a moment, it was all about the beach vibes and a game of cricket. 🎉🏖️
