🏴 Welcome Home, Leigh Evans! 🏠✨

In a heartfelt turn of events, Leigh Evans, a retired nurse from Swansea, has safely returned to the UK after being detained by Israeli authorities. Leigh was aboard the Abd Elkarim Eid, part of a flotilla aimed at delivering aid to Gaza, which was stopped en route earlier this week.

His arrival at Heathrow Airport was met with cheers and relief from friends and supporters. Leigh shared his emotional experience, expressing deep sympathy for the ongoing plight of the Palestinian people. “What we went through was tough, but it pales in comparison to the struggles faced by those in Gaza,” Leigh noted passionately.
The Thousand Madleen Flotilla, including the vessel Leigh was on, was on a mission to peacefully break the blockade of Gaza—aiming to establish a humanitarian corridor. Despite the interception, Leigh’s resolve remains strong, advocating for peace and aid.
Keeping hope alive, a video of Leigh surfaced earlier this week where he wore a Welsh flag bandana and reached out to his comrades and supporters to put pressure on the government for his release.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of Leigh’s MP and wife, who worked closely with British authorities, Leigh and fellow activist Mary Finn were finally released. His story highlights the resilience of individuals standing in solidarity against adversity.
Join us in celebrating Leigh’s safe return and acknowledging the humanitarian spirit that continues to drive change. 🌍✌️
