Tragic news from Yr Wyddfa: A 27-year-old hiker named Kieran has sadly lost his life during a climb. Kieran went missing while ascending Wales’ tallest peak, and was last seen at midday near Bwlch Glas, where the Pyg Track meets the Llanberis Path. Despite a huge search operation by the mountain rescue team and various partner agencies, Kieran’s body was found the following day.


The Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team shared a heartfelt statement offering condolences to Kieran’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. They also expressed gratitude for the efforts and dedication of all involved in the search, including RAF Mountain Rescue, Coastguard 936, Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team, North Wales Police, and SARDA.

North Wales Police confirmed the tragic discovery, and Chief Inspector Emma Parry extended her deepest sympathies to Kieran’s loved ones. The family also thanked all the rescue teams and partners for their support.
