🌞 Summer 2025 is on track to be one for the record books in the UK, with the Met Office reporting it might just be one of the warmest we’ve ever seen. With just two weeks left of the season, many are wondering if a fifth heatwave is on the horizon. ☀️

Despite the sunny skies predicted, the Met Office has put the brakes on heatwave chatter. It seems high pressure is taking centre stage over Scotland, acting like a giant ‘boulder in a stream’ and diverting the jet stream. So, while we might see a few showers in the southwest, it’s looking like a dry but not sizzling hot finale to the summer.

This summer’s been consistently warm, with the mean temperature from June 1 to August 17 standing at 16.2°C, a whole 1.6°C above the long-term average. 🌡️
Met Office’s Emily Carlisle says, “June and July were scorchers, well above average, and even when it wasn’t officially a heatwave, the warmth stuck around.” With factors like dry ground, high-pressure systems, and warm seas contributing to the consistent heat, it’s clear why this summer’s being tipped for the history books.
Remember, the warmest summers currently recorded are 2018, 2006, 2003, 2022, and the legendary summer of 1976. But with a couple of weeks still to go, could 2025 take the crown? Stay tuned! 🌻
