A former teenage prison officer has landed herself a three-year jail sentence after a scandalous affair with an inmate, which included filming intimate encounters in her uniform and smuggling contraband. Alicia Novas, who was just 18 when her illegal activities began, was found guilty of misconduct, having had a sexual relationship with prisoner Declan Winkless, 31. The drama unfolded at HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough, where Novas smuggled cannabis and two mobile phones for Winkless, leading to his additional three years and four months behind bars.
During the intense court proceedings at Northampton Crown Court, it was revealed that Novas shared her personal number with Winkless, leading to nearly 3,000 messages exchanged between them.
