🇬🇧 **Trail Hunting Ban on the Horizon in Wales! 🐾**

Big news from the UK Government: trail hunting is set to be banned in Wales and England as part of a new animal welfare strategy. 🐶 This move is sparking debates, with officials suggesting it acts as a “smokescreen” for hunting wild animals.

Trail hunting typically involves creating a scent trail for dogs to follow, supposedly not involving any live animals. But anti-hunting groups, like the League Against Cruel Sports, have reported numerous incidents suggesting otherwise. They recorded nearly 1,600 cases last season alone, with 397 fox chases!
Tim Bonner from the Countryside Alliance says revisiting this topic is “completely unnecessary,” arguing that this issue was dealt with 20 years ago. He also criticized the Labour party’s priorities, especially concerning rural communities.
But the minister for animal welfare, Baroness Hayman, is clear: “In our manifesto, we said we would ban trail hunting, and that’s exactly what we’ll do.” A consultation to flesh out details of the ban is expected early next year.
What do you think about this move? Is it a step towards genuine animal protection, or is the debate just being reignited without need? Let us know your thoughts in the comments! 🌿✨
