Heartbreaking news from Marbella: 27-year-old Ardi Balliu may never walk again after a tragic diving accident. What was meant to be a dream beach holiday turned into a nightmare when Ardi suffered severe spinal injuries after diving headfirst into the water at Calo d’es Moro. Despite his friend’s quick reaction to raise the alarm, Ardi was pulled from the sea unable to feel his legs.

Ardi, originally from Northampton and a dedicated construction worker, now faces a very challenging recovery ahead. With fractures in four parts of his spine, including the vital C1 vertebra, doctors have warned that hopes for him walking again are slim. He may even need long-term breathing support. As medics work to reduce his medication to assess his breathing ability, thoughts and prayers are with Ardi and his family.

In response to this tragic turn of events, a GoFundMe page has been set up by Ardi’s cousin to help cover soaring medical costs and his eventual journey back to the UK. The heartfelt appeal has already gathered over £43,000, demonstrating the power of community and the generosity of strangers. “Ardi is a loving son, uncle, and a joy to be around,” his cousin Ingrid Kaca shares. “The road ahead is long and challenging. Any support given will help relieve the financial stress on his family so they can focus on being by his side.”
Whether through donations or simply sharing Ardi’s story, any help to support him and his family during this tough time is deeply appreciated. Let’s come together to spread the word and offer all the love and support we can to ensure Ardi has the best possible chance of recovering. Thank you for your kindness and continued support. ❤️
