ππ Heads Up, Wales! A court recently dealt with the boss of a popular airport transfer service for illegally driving people to Bristol Airport. Ian Price, of Top Class Travel UK, cleverly fiddled with the tachograph system on his minibus to clock extra hours, skirting regulations meant to keep our roads safe! Turns out, Price and another driver, Stephen Elwell, repeatedly took out the essential driver card from their minibus tachographs, leading to incomplete and false records π.

Caught in a DVSA sting on Swansea’s Fabian Way, Price’s tampering came back to haunt him. Both men eventually pleaded guilty, owning up to making false records about their driving times. Priceβs lawyer said he was swamped with work and, in a “stupid” decision, decided to tweak the system rather than let customers down.

Judge Catherine Richards didn’t hold back, dubbing his actions “highly arrogant” but noting there was no evidence of poor driving. Price is facing a 4-month prison sentence, suspended for a year, plus community service and a hefty fine for prosecution costs. Meanwhile, Elwell received a community order with work and treatment conditions.
Let this be a cautionary tale: playing fast and loose with road safety laws isn’t just risky, itβs costly too! Stay safe out there, whether you’re behind the wheel or catching a ride. πβοΈ
