🌊 Exciting times ahead for Porthcawl! 🏖️ New images have just been unveiled showcasing the ambitious transformation set for the town’s seafront. From a fabulous new lido swimming pool to almost 1,000 new homes, the vision promises to rejuvenate popular spots like Griffin Park, Sandy Bay, and Dock Street. 🚴♂️🏡

The plans, developed by Bridgend County Borough Council, include green spaces galore, funfair rides, shops, and even a dedicated area for motorhomes and caravans. Imagine summer days at the new splash pad or community games in a multi-use area – it’s all on the cards! 🌳🏕️

However, change doesn’t come without its critics. Concerns were raised about the potential strain on infrastructure and local services, and a risk of losing Porthcawl’s unique character. In response, council leaders have scaled back the number of new homes and adjusted building heights to keep them cosy and in tune with the town’s charm. 🏘️
