Hold onto your hats, folks! The M48 Severn Bridge had to shut down both ways thanks to some fierce winds earlier today, December 7th. Drivers had to scoot over to the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge, causing a bit of a traffic tango around junction 23, Rogiet. But don’t fret too much—traffic on the rest of the M4 is cruising along nicely.

However, the weather’s not done with us just yet! The Met Office has upgraded its threat to life warning due to rambunctious winds set to howl through parts of Wales at the start of next week. Areas like Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, and Swansea are bracing for gusts that could lead to disruptions from Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon. Expect a blustery mix of heavy rain too, with a yellow warning in place from Monday night until Tuesday evening. Some flooding and travel muddles might be in the cards for many around Wales.

In other news, Natural Resources Wales is keeping a close eye on the River Ritec at Tenby due to high water levels, which might linger for a few days. This impacts the Kiln Park caravan site and nearby roads. Luckily, the heaviest rain has moved on, but stay alert for updates.
For tonight, it’s mostly dry with clear spells, but keep an eye out for showers, some heavy, rolling in later. A bit of thunder, hail, and gusty winds could make an appearance too—especially around the west. Temperatures will stay mild with lows around 7°C.
Stay safe and keep checking for updates. Let’s hope for clearer skies soon! 🌧️🌬️
