Sad news from Wrexham as a 74-year-old man tragically passed away after a fall at The Midland pub. Martin Hill had a fatal accident earlier this month, and an inquest has been opened to investigate the circumstances.

North Wales Police were alerted by the ambulance service shortly before 6pm on December 8th. It’s believed Mr Hill, a retired labourer, fell over the bannister on the second floor after visiting the loo. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being placed in an ambulance.

Coroner John Gittins stated that while the post-mortem is still underway, CCTV suggests the fall was an accident as Mr Hill was on his way back down from the toilets. The pub owner has already taken safety measures by boxing in the stairwell, a proactive move that has been commended, especially with the busy festive season approaching. The local health and safety department has also been notified to help prevent future accidents.

Our thoughts go out to Mr Hill’s family and friends during this difficult time. Stay safe out there, everyone, especially during the holiday rush.
