Tragic news from North Wales—two men have sadly lost their lives in a crash on the A487 Porthmadog bypass. The accident, involving an Isuzu recovery truck and a VW Golf, happened last Saturday evening and led to the road being closed for three days. The victims have been identified as 34-year-old Matthew Hardy from Pwllheli and 40-year-old Daniel Atkinson from Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Authorities confirmed both men were pronounced dead at the scene, and their families are being supported by specially trained officers. North Wales Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from that evening to come forward to help with their investigation. If you were travelling on the A487 between 9:00 pm and 9:40 pm on December 20th and saw anything, your information could be crucial.
Our thoughts go out to the families and friends of Matthew and Daniel during this incredibly difficult time. Chief Inspector Trystan Bevan has expressed his condolences and gratitude to the community for their patience and understanding while investigations continue.
