Exciting News for Llanystumdwy! 🎉

Our beloved pub, Tafarn y Plu, is set for an incredible £2 million makeover starting in January 2026! Thanks to a generous investment from the National Lottery and government grants, this transformation promises to secure the pub’s future for generations to come.

Back in 2019, our community banded together to save this cherished local gem. Now, with fresh plans and a whole lot of spirit, we’re getting ready to breathe new life into it. The project includes not only the restoration of Tafarn y Plu but also the nearby Capel Bach, transforming it into self-catering accommodation as part of the exciting revamp.
Construction kicks off in January, so mark your calendars because we’ll have to say a temporary goodbye to our favourite spot after January 2nd. But don’t worry, it’s all for a good cause! When the doors swing open again by Autumn 2026, expect a more sustainable, welcoming, and vibrant Tafarn y Plu. 🌿🍻
This project will add a Community and Heritage Officer, boost biodiversity, and introduce more community activities. From tapping pints to creating extraordinary experiences, Tafarn y Plu will soon have it all.
A massive thank you to The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Welsh and UK governments, and everyone who has supported this journey. Your contributions are invaluable!
Chair Peredur Jones remarks, “This is a huge moment for our community. We look forward to welcoming everyone back by Autumn 2026.”
Keep an eye on this space for updates. Cheers to a bright future! 🍻✨
