**Mountain Rescue Team’s Powerful Message: Help Is Always Free!**
After a recent evening rescue on Tryfan, the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO) is defending their crucial, life-saving work. When two walkers found themselves stranded in the dark, the dedicated rescue team stepped in, leading them safely to lower ground. However, discussions ignited online, with some suggesting that those requiring such rescues should be charged.
OVMRO swiftly responded, urging for compassion and understanding. They emphasised that everyone, regardless of experience, can find themselves in tricky situations. The team’s heartfelt message resonated: everyone deserves help without fear of judgment or cost.
They reminded adventurers of key safety tips: always carry a map and charged torches, and remember that mountains are challenging, especially as days grow shorter. Good preparation includes checking the weather and carrying extra clothes for unexpected stops.
Navigating these majestic slopes requires respect and care, but if things take a turn, know that OVMRO is ready to assist. Let’s keep embracing the outdoors responsibly and support the unsung heroes who ensure our safety. 🌄🗺️💡
