What a win for Cardiff City to close out 2025 on a high! A thrilling 2-1 victory over Stevenage had us all on the edge of our seats, with our boys showing great determination to come back from behind. It was Callum Robinson and Yousef Salech who stole the show, netting late goals that ensured the Bluebirds stretched their lead at the top of League One.
Despite dominating possession in the first half, Cardiff faced a scare when Stevenage’s Phoenix Patterson scored a stunning opener just before the hour mark. But Cardiff’s response was immediate! Robinson was quick to level the score after seizing a loose ball, and Salech’s instinctive finish late on sealed the win amid wild celebrations at Cardiff City Stadium.
Here’s a quick rundown of some standout performances:
– Keeper Nathan Trott had a solid night, with little to do for most parts but well-commanded when needed.
– David Turnbull earned the star man accolade, linking play brilliantly and almost scoring with a shot that clipped the net’s roof.
– Substitutes made a massive impact, particularly Omari Kellyman and Ronan Kpakio, who brought fresh energy and defensive awareness to the game.
Every player played their part, from Perry Ng’s energetic runs down the right to Chris Willock’s creative spark testing Stevenage’s defence. A big shout-out to the whole squad for their relentless spirit and determination. Onwards and upwards, Bluebirds fans! 💙
