🚗💰 Heads up, adventurers! If you’re heading to the Pen-y-Pass car park at Eryri, home to some of Wales’ most breathtaking hiking trails, brace yourself for higher parking fees this year. 🌄

This 66-space car park is a favourite launch pad for those tackling iconic routes like the Miners’ Track and Crib Goch. But with popularity comes demand, and now, a price hike! From the coming season, expect a £5 increase across all rates. Previously, a spot here would set you back £20 for up to eight hours, £30 for eight to 12 hours, and £40 for a full day. With the new changes, it’ll cost you even more for that prime parking position.

Wondering why? Well, it turns out it’s not a cash-grab by the local park authority. They’re facing rising rent costs imposed by the site owners alongside increased security and maintenance expenses, meaning the income from parking fees will remain steady despite the hike.

But it’s not all about emptying your wallet! 🏞️ The park authority is rolling out plans to reinvest parking revenues right back into the local community. Expect investments in community events, cultural projects, and improvements to infrastructure aimed at easing visitor pressures.
For locals, there’s some good news too. The Nant Peris car park will remain at a friendly £5, encouraging the use of park-and-ride services to ease congestion.
Get ready for the new visitor season and stay tuned for details on the community fund launching soon. Let’s keep our beloved national parks thriving for everyone! 🌿✨
