🚨 Hospital in Hot Water! 🚨

University Hospital of Wales (UHW) in Cardiff faces mounting pressure to rethink their decision on an employee arrested on suspicion of serious crimes, including rape. Instead of suspension, this individual sits in a “supervised non-patient facing role,” sparking outrage and fear among patients and the public.

A complainant, who painfully crosses paths with the suspect during hospital visits, voiced her horror: “Feeling disheartened and frightened is an understatement!” Advocacy groups and politicians like Heledd Fychan stress the need for UHW to ensure patients feel safe. “Safety should be paramount!” they say.
Llamau, a domestic abuse charity, calls for zero-tolerance, insisting that serious allegations demand serious actions. Meanwhile, the Health Board states they’ve conducted a thorough risk assessment, but questioned if that’s enough.
This comes amid a series of scandals rocking the health board, with reports of criminal behaviour being ignored. From thefts to shocking allegations of indecent exposure at work, the NHS here is under a harsh spotlight.
