π Go Adele! π

Welshpool’s very own bobsleigh sensation, Adele Nicoll, is making waves at the Winter Olympics! Despite feeling those classic “jelly legs” nerves at the top of the Cortina Sliding Centre, Adele powered through her Olympic debut in style. π

Currently sitting 13th in the womenβs monobob at the halfway stage, Adele shows she’s got the grit and determination to shine on this technical track. With her experience as an alternate at the last Games in Beijing, this is her time to shine and let her skills do the talking.

Adele’s on this incredible journey solo as the only Welsh athlete at the Games. She’ll soon team up with Ashleigh Nelson for an exciting two-woman event. But for now, it’s all eyes on her monobob performance. π·
Reflecting on her debut, Adele shared, “Standing on the block and seeing those Olympic rings was surreal and emotional. Despite some jitters, my run felt solid, and that makes me proud.”
With two more runs to go, bobsleigh athletes have to race four times, aiming for the lowest cumulative time to win gold. Adele is already climbing the ranks, improving her time by 0.25 seconds from her first run!
“I knew that was a good run,” she said with her trademark positivity. “I’ll always celebrate my own wins.”
Weβre all cheering you on, Adele! Bring on those solid runs and powerful pushes. π
