🚨 Traffic Alert: Chaos on Welsh Roads! 🚛
Yesterday turned into a traffic nightmare for commuters in Wales as two major routes were blocked, causing significant disruption. Early on, a lorry jackknifed on the A470 near Rhayader, closing the road in both directions just before 8am. Meanwhile, the A483 faced its own troubles between Newtown and Dolfor when another vehicle mishap occurred around 9am.
Emergency services quickly sprang into action. Mid and West Wales Fire Rescue teams from Newtown attended the scene on Dolfor Road where a light goods vehicle had collided with a telegraph pole. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the recovery and cleanup took hours, keeping the road shut until 2pm.
But the disruption didn’t stop there! A third incident saw another lorry stuck on a rural road near Llanidloes, adding to the day’s chaos.
Drivers faced long delays as authorities worked tirelessly to clear the routes, with teams called to the scene of the overturned lorry on the A470 shortly before 8am as well. Police reported that a telephone pole was damaged, and efforts to repair it were quickly underway.
Remarkably, no serious injuries resulted from these incidents, but the chaos led to widespread delays as drivers attempted to find alternative routes. 🚧
Hope everyone stays safe on the roads! Keep in mind the potential for travel delays and check your routes ahead of time. 🛣️
