Jury Dismissed in Trial of Police Officer Facing Sexual Assault Accusations

A jury in a high-profile trial involving a police officer accused of sexual assault has been discharged. Fiona Anderson, aged 33, from Exeter, faces allegations of sexually assaulting a woman in Cardiff back in 2018. During her ongoing trial at Bristol Crown Court, presiding Judge William Hart decided to discharge the jury for legal reasons, stating the trial will need a fresh start with a new jury. Unfortunately, this postpones the resolution for both the complainant and the suspended officer, who has been off duty since her arrest in March 2023. The new trial date is yet to be announced. Stay tuned for updates on this developing case.
