The court heard that tensions flared when Omed Pirot from Marmaris Barbers announced plans to open a new shop in Newbridge. This did not sit well with the folks at Kurds Barbers, leading to a confrontation that quickly devolved into a chaotic scuffle in full view of innocent bystanders, including children.

At the heart of the legal proceedings, Omed Pirot, 31, and Shahab Husseini, 25, were found guilty of affray. They were judged to have actively participated in the large-scale street brawl involving more than a dozen people. On the other hand, Sardam Ebrahimi, 27, was acquitted of the charges.

Eyewitnesses and CCTV caught the pandemonium on camera — punches and kicks were thrown, and even scissors were retrieved from the scene as makeshift weapons. People nearby called 999, fearing the worst after rumours spread that several individuals had been stabbed.

After the dust settled, a bloodied Pirot was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a fractured skull, highlighting the severity of the clash. Husseini claimed he acted in self-defence, trying to protect friends as tensions escalated.

The jury has spoken, but the saga isn’t over yet. Sentencing for Husseini, Pirot, and five others who have confessed follows next month. Judge Daniel Williams will have the final word on their fate on April 10. Stay tuned for more updates on this dramatic showdown!
