🚨 Ex-Police Officer’s Deceptive Behaviour Revealed! 🚨

Cullen Gough-Nicholls, a former PC from Gwent Police, has been struck off after an investigation revealed shocking misconduct while he was on sick leave. Despite being signed off as “unfit for duty,” he was found working at a post office! 📮

The findings from a special misconduct hearing showed Mr Gough-Nicholls breaking several conduct rules, including providing false statements about his ability to work and failing to declare a business interest. The situation went down on five different occasions in September last year and thrice in 2025, rocking the trust in the force’s integrity.

Assistant Chief Constable Nick McLain emphasised, “Communities deserve officers with the utmost professionalism. Breaching this trust undermines public confidence.” The former officer’s actions were deemed gross misconduct and warranted dismissal, even though he resigned beforehand.
Mr Gough-Nicholls will now be placed on the College of Policing’s barred list, ensuring he won’t return to policing. This case highlights the immense responsibility on the police to maintain public trust and the serious consequences when this is not upheld.
