You won’t believe this! A woman from Wales, Carol Ann Edwards, 38, posed as a trainee nurse and falsely advertised Botox treatments. But it turns out, she was injecting clients with a dodgy unlicensed product called Fraxin instead! 😲

Operating under the name 5 Star Aesthetics on Angelsey, she fooled people into thinking they were getting genuine Botox. Two clients complained about poor results and struggled to get responses from her. Botox is tightly regulated in the UK, and what Edwards used wasn’t up to scratch.

After various complaints, Anglesey Trading Standards stepped in. Edwards finally admitted she was using Fraxin, not Botox, and it was also unveiled that she wasn’t a trainee nurse at all!

At Caernarfon Crown Court, Edwards received a 12-month community order, 15 days of rehab, and was fined £500, plus £1,000 in compensation. The judge highlighted the potential harm of unlicensed treatments, even if they seemed cheaper and low-risk initially.

Councillor Nicola Roberts and Trading Standards Manager Emma Jones are urging everyone to be cautious with non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Remember, these aren’t always regulated, and you never know what you might be getting.

Stay safe and always double-check credentials when considering beauty treatments. Your health is too valuable to gamble!
